Step 1: Install RS485 Adapter |
- Insert "USB485/USB485B Drivers" CD
- Plug USB485/USB485B adapter into your computers USB port
- Select "No, not this time" and click Next
- Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and click Next
- Select "Search for the best driver in these locations"
- Uncheck "Search removable media (floppy, CD-ROM...)"
- Check "Include this location in the search"
- Click the browse button and locate the WinXP_2000 folder on your CD-ROM drive (Usually D:\WinXP_2000) and click Next
- Click Finish
- Repeat steps C-I

Step 2: Install Light-O-Rama ShowTime Software Suite |
- Insert Light-O-Rama ShowTime Software Suite CD
- If setup does not begin automatically, doulble click Setup.exe on your CD drive
- Click Yes to agree to the software license agreement
- Click OK
- Click the button to begin the installation
- Click Continue
- Click OK

Step 3: Install WowLights Sequences |
- If you purchased WowLights sequenes:
- Insert WowLights Sequence CD
- Double click on Setup.bat on your CD Drive
- Select your Light-O-Rama version

Step 4: Mount Controller(s) |
- When selecting a location for your controller(s) it is best to place it near the middle of your display to minimize the length of extension cords required
- The controller should be mounted so the controller and recepticles are off the ground
- Unplug the power and open the door to the controller
- Use one screw in the top left and top right corners

Step 5: Connect CAT5 & Power Cables |
- For CTB16PC Planet Christmas controllers, push the CAT5 cable through the center gromet where the input cords enter the controller. Connect the CAT5 to one of the right two CAT5 connectors.
- Run CAT5 cable from the controller to the RS485 adapter connected to your computer.
- Connect additional controllers by plugging in CAT5 into the other connector on the first controller and running it to the next controller.
- Run extension cords from your power source to the input cords on your controller(s)

Step 6: Install & Connect Lights |
- Install the lights on your house and in your yard. For the Christmas Package or Christmas Controller Package use these outputs:

The first three outputs are for Santa.
One is for the outline and 2 are for the mustashe.
The next two outputs are for lights on your house. We recommend you use C9 lights for one output and icicles for the other output.
The next 10 outputs are for lights in your yard. You can setup these lights left to right on bushes, trees, glow molds, columns, arches, window outlines, etc.
The last output is an extra output that can be used for a welcome/tune to sign in our 16 output sequences and as the mega tree star in our 32/48 output sequences.

- Run extension cords from each output to your controller(s) and plug them into their corresponding outputs.

Step 7: Setup Comm Port & Test Controller |
- Open the Light-O-Rama Hardware Utility (Start > Programs > Light-O-Rama > Light-O-Rama Hardware)
- Under "Setup Comm Port" click the "Auto Configure" button
- Click OK
- If the Hardware Utility is unable to locate the correct comm port you can look up the port number manually in the Windows Device Manager:
- Click Start > Settings > Control Panel
- Double Click System (If your Control Panel is in category view, click "Performance and Maintenance" then click system.
- Click the Hardware tab
- Click Device Manager
- Click the + next to "Ports (COM & LPT)
- Look for the device named "USB Serial Port" The COM# next to this is the Comm port # that Windows assigned to your RS485 adpater
- Close the Device Manager, System Properties, and Control Panel windows
- Open the Light-O-Rama Hardware Utility (Start > Programs > Light-O-Rama > Light-O-Rama Hardware)
- Under "Setup Comm Port" use the "Manual Select" drop down to select your comm port
- Click Yes, then OK
- Click the refresh button to search for your controller(s)
- Once the Hardware Utility locates your controller(s) you can test the operation of each output by selecting the check box next to the outputs number and selecting he effect you would like to test

Step 8: Create Show |
- Open the Light-O-Rama Show Editor (Start > Programs > Light-O-Rama > Light-O-Rama Show Editor)
- Click the Musical Tab
- Click the plus button and select the sequences you would like to add to your show
- You can adjust when each song plays by selecting it and clicking the up and down buttons
- Once all of your sequences have been added and they are in the order desired, click on Save As
- Give your show a name and click Save

Step 9: Schedule Show |
- Open the Light-O-Rama Schedule Editor (Start > Programs > Light-O-Rama > Light-O-Rama Schedule Editor)
- Click Add
- Click the "..." button and select the show you created and click open
- Set the time you would like your show to start and end
- Check the days you would like your show to run
- Click Add
- Click Save

Step 10: Enable Shows |
- Open the Light-O-Rama Control Panel (Start > Programs > Light-O-Rama > Light-O-Rama Control Panel)
- Right-click the light bulb in your system tray (next to the clock)
- Click on Enable Shows
- You can view the current status by double clicking on the light bulb
