> Troubleshooting > Controller Not Triggering Lights

If your controller isn't triggering your lights check the following:

Check to make sure the red LED on the controller is on steady. If it is flashing, check the connection between your computer and RS-485 adapter and the connection between the RS-485 adapter and controller.

Start the Hardware Utility and click refresh at the top center of the window. If your controller is connected correctly it should show up in the drop down list just to the right of the refresh button.

Check that the COM port is set correctly for your RS-485 adapter. If you don't know the COM port number click the Auto Configure button to have the Hardware Utility search for it.

If you are using a USB RS-485 adapter close all Light-O-Rama programs and then unplug the USB cable from the computer, wait 15 seconds, and plug it back in.

Power cycle the controller by unplugging it, waiting 30 seconds, and plugging back in.

Reboot computer.
